Art is a reflection
of the artist. It reflects their thoughts, beliefs, dreams, and values,
as well as their creative process and familiarity with the medium of expression.
As students engage in artmaking they are able to express aspects of themselves
and their world that are not readily expressed through written or oral
communication. When students are given the opportunity to develop their
personal artistic expression through studying and making art, they become
confident artists. Through art students develop their ability to communicate,
interpret, appreciate, and understand what they see.
